In loving memory…

Today I attended a funeral service for a lady in her late 50’s, a secretary for where I work.  But she was more than a secretary to me — I remember she took an hour off one day to walk me over to see the used car lot, and another time checking how things were going for me over lunch.  We quickly became good friends.

It was only a few months afterwards that she called me at work with a saddened voice “…I will be leaving for a while…I’ve been diagnosed with cancer...”

I’ve never seen her since, but I have always kept her one voice mail on my work phone…

…You will be missed.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” -2 Corinthians 4:16~18
