Radioactive Isotopes

Last week I went to my first ever baseball game (with coworkers Teckla, Jess and Justin)…the Albuquerque Isotopes VS the Nashville Sounds!

The name Isotopes was chosen by the fans in the city, taking the name (in part) from an episode of The Simpsons where Homer Simpson discovers that the local team, the Springfield Isotopes, are secretly planning to move to Albuquerque during a lengthy losing streak.

What amazed me the most about the stadium was the lush green grass field…a rare view in Albuquerque indeed. =)

After Justin patiently explained all the rules to me, the game started to make sense and the game turned out more enjoyable than I had originally expected. I was rewarded with the sign of a handful of steals and of course home runs! I was very pumped up…started rooting for the Isotopes like a mad man…hee hee.

Here’s Theckla and Justin (seriously, that’s his natural smile ;P ):

and here’s Jess and I doing our gang sign!

Jess and Theckla:

And how could we watch a good game without good food???? They sold $5 foot long kosher hotdogs with sauerkraut at the food court!!! CHECK THIS OUT! They were soooooooooo good I had to get TWO! YUMMMMMY!

I’ll never watch a baseball game without a good hotdog.
